Handsome, antique door salvaged from an old, home in central new jersey. This door was original to the home's construction and the home was built during the first half of the previous century. The door is made of solid douglas fir or pine, and is painted on both sides. It has 4 raised panels on the front side, and 4 recessed (flat) panels on the other side. Also notice that the panels on the front have molding and the panels on the back don't (shaker style). When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: the door is not equipped with any hardware.
Condition: the door is strong, sturdy, and in excellent condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Refinish/repaint: we could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish.
Swing: the door is set up to swing into a room towards the right, or out towards the left. Modification: we could also modify the door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. 29 3/4" x 77 1/2" x 1 1/8.
