Wow, what a rare find this gorgeous, antique door was salvaged from an old home in northeastern pa. The door is made of solid douglas fir or pine and is painted white on the front and stained a dark color on the back. It has a single, half-length window with old, floral, textured glass ("florentine") above 3 raised panels.

When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.

Hardware: the door is not equipped with any hardware. Condition: the beauty of the door and it's fine-quality construction are only matched by the door's superb condition. It has the typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. However, there is no warp, rot, or serious breaks or cracks i. Once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of the blemishes would be removed.

What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear a character mark. The only issue the door has is a 1/8 separation/gap between the top rail and lock stile see last photo. Both parts are tight and the gap is just a visual blemish. However, it may be come a real issue many years down the line. The beautiful, original, textured glass is also fully intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches. Refinish/repaint: we could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. Swing: the door is set up to swing inwardly towards the left our outwardly towards the right.

Modification: we could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Door: 31 7/8"x 84" x 1 3/8. Window: 22 1/2" x 37".
