Both door knobs are sculptured in ornate detail for a gorgeous appearance. Handle set was manufactured by reading hardware company r.
C, which was founded in 1852. Back of each faceplate is marked clinton rhc and the number 1310. Very unique mortise lock with two lock bolts is designed to be locked from either side, most likely used for adjoining rooms. Faceplate is slightly bent on one end as can be seen in pictures.
Normal scratches stains and oxidation are found throughout as well. This is overall a great handle set that is full of history. This handle set would be great for a restoration project, or a collector of early hardware.
