Custom Bi-Fold Barn Door

The price for this listing includes one bi-fold door measuring up to 36'' wide x 84'' tall. The listing photo shows two bi-fold doors. At rusticroo designs, we handcraft custom barn doors made exactly to your specifications. With our background in restoration carpentry, our barn doors are made just as they were hundreds of years ago.

Choose your door's exact size, design, and finish, creating a completely unique and personal home design feature. Bring us your ideas and we will work with you to bring them to life. Our doors are made of knotty pine, sourced from local lumber yards. We love using knotty pine as it is cost effective, allowing us to create a unique home accent piece for you at an affordable price, and it looks phenomenal with wood stain applied. The knots in the wood also add to the uniqueness and rustic character of our doors. Upon request, we can also use reclaimed wood, poplar, or a wide variety of other wood types if your design calls for it. Let us know what you have in mind, and we will gladly provide you with a price estimate.

Should you wish to have your door painted rather than stained, we recommend the use of poplar as this wood is smooth with little to no knots, and takes paint very well. Our doors start at $375 for a knotty pine door, with a standard design with border, that is up to 3 feet wide (36'') and 7 feet tall (84''). If there is a certain stain color or particular brand that you would like to use instead, please let us know and we are happy to accommodate your selection. Our doors are typically finished only on one side, meaning only one side of the door is stained, while the back side remains unfinished. Of course we are happy to also finish the back side of the door if your installation calls for it, for an additional $55 for standard size doors, or $75 for larger doors.

We recommend finishing both sides of the door if the product will be used in any area of your home where both sides of the door will be visible. Typically, our doors are not made with a groove in the bottom of the door to accommodate a guide. We do not include the groove as a standard feature as certain installations and/or hardware options do not call for it.

If you'd prefer to have one installed, please let us know and we will gladly cut one in for you for an additional $15. Is not included by default, but we are happy to include it with your order if you wish we can provide a quote for hardware upon request. Our doors are secured together through a technique called "clinching" by which the nails are first driven through the face of the board, then the point of the nail that is sticking out on the back is bent over and driven back into the wood. Clinching provides remarkable strength and gives the door a truly rustic look. Alternatively, we can use brass screws which are drilled in from the back of the door and are not visible from the front (design side) of the door.

Our typical lead time is 4-6 weeks, but please check with us for the most up to date production time for your order our lead time can be pushed out longer as it is dependent upon the amount of jobs that we have in queue. We look forward to working with you. This item is made of pine and nails, love.
