Original early 19th century door lock. Restored to full working order. The lock works as follows:- the knob seen to the case front slides back to release the latch, a turn of the key to the right does the same thing. Externally the lock and latch are operated entirely by the key (no door knob externally). The latch dead locks by a second throw of the key.Intended for left hand fitting when viewed from the lock side of the door. Lock body measures 10 x 6 x 1.1/4 inches. Door keep is 2 inches wide. This item is made of brass and steel.
